What’s Been Happening? Regular readers of this portion of the quarterly review have repeatedly been exposed to the fairly reliable stock market mantra: “prices follow profits”. Reported profits of the S&P 500 companies exceeded expectations in the third quarter and grew by 21.2% over the third quarter of 2005, according to the Wall Street Journal.
